God creates. What would cause a God, infinitely perfect in himself, to create? And yet he creates. Maybe it's because he is love & desires an object to place that love upon. Nevertheless, he creates.
Chapter 1 says that the world was formless & void. The earth was without structure & empty. Following this formless & empty earth we see that God forms & fills. He forms the sky & fills it with lights. He forms the earth & fills it with creatures. He forms the Sea & fills it as well. This is his pattern. He forms & fills.
The creator God is also the Savior God who recreates his creation into a brand new form. Once they were lost, now they are found. Once they were rebellious, now they are obedient. Once they were empty, now they are full. Once they were hallow, not they overflow. Once they were hungry, now they are satisfied. He forms, he fills. The creator of the universe creates in his people a new heart. He forms & he fills.
