Day 146/365- 1 Kings 10:9

"In My Place"

Praise the Lord your God, who delights in you and has placed you on the throne of Israel. Because of the Lord 's eternal love for Israel, he has made you king so you can rule with justice and righteousness." (1 Kings 10:9 NLT)

Solomon was placed on the throne of Israel by God. He was placed there not by accident but for a specific purpose. He was made king so that he could rule with justice & righteousness. He was made king at a specific time in history to be used by God for a specific task. He was not mainly made king to acquire wealth, build structures, or impress foreigners. His main purpose was for God.

Where have we been placed? What is our place? Where do we find ourselves living, working, & playing? We are not there by accident. On the contrary, we have been placed where we are by God, for God. We are working where we are not mainly for money, position, or influence but for the purposes of God. Our co-workers need to know Jesus & God has placed us there for his kingdom & glory. What about where we live? Do we live where we live for us? Or, has God placed us there for his purpose, will, & glory?

Just like Solomon was appointed king by God & for God, so we have been placed where we are, doing what we are doing for his glory. The question is, what are we doing where we are?
