Day 87/365- Joshua 15:63

"Camouflage Disobedience"

But the tribe of Judah could not drive out the Jebusites, who lived in the city of Jerusalem, so the Jebusites live there among the people of Judah to this day. (Joshua 15:63 NLT)

God has promised to give this land to his people. He has promised to be with them & fight for them. He has promised to give them an inheritance that is all their own. And yet, we are beginning to see a pattern in the lives of the Israelites. They are taking most of the land for their inheritance but not all of it. They are driving out many of the peoples but not all. The consequences of this are detrimental to them. Not only at the moment but for their future. Many if these peoples will be a snare to them.

Halfway obedience is camouflaged disobedience. Delayed obedience is camouflaged disobedience. To do what God has commanded us only halfway or to delay his command on our lives is really to be disobedient. When God commands us to do something, it is not one of the options to be chosen. It is to be obeyed, then & there. We fear sometimes what might happen if we obey. We fear the consequences. We fear the lack of comfort it will bring. What we fail to realize is that the consequences for not obeying are always far worse than obedience could ever be. When God commands us to do something he has our good & best interest at heart.

Where is God calling us to obey? Where have we only obeyed halfway or are delaying being obedient?
