Great Grace

After four generations your descendants will return here to this land, for the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant their destruction.” (Genesis 15:16 NLT)

God promised that Abraham's descendants would return to this land & possess it but the time had not yet come. They would have to endure 400 years of slavery before they would inherit God'a promise. 400 years! But why so long?

"For the sins of the Amorites do not yet warrant their destruction." Could it be that God was giving the Amorites his grace? They deserved to be destroyed for their sin at that moment but God was allowing them time to repent. God was giving them a grace period to turn to him & not be destroyed.

And this is the nature of the grace of God. From Genesis to Revelation we see the full display of his grace. And the fact that we are still here today is a reflection of his grace.

What will we do with the time we have been given? Will we respond to the grace of God?
