Day 361/365- Revelation 1:18

"Death has died"

I am the living one. I died, but look—I am alive forever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and the grave. (Revelation 1:18 NLT)

God was born. He came incarnate to this world. God dwelt among us. Then, God died. But he didn't stay dead. He is alive forevermore.

Jesus with his death killed death. His resurrection was the end of death. The grave has been conquered & life eternal has been provided in Jesus.

This is Good News.

Death is the one thing common to all men. One out of every one person will die. The saying goes, "The only two things for certain in this life are death & taxes."

Although Jesus confirmed that taxes are here to stay when he said to give to Caesar what is Caesar's, the same cannot be said of death. Jesus came to kill death so that it no longer has a hold on mankind.

Death is the biggest fear that we have. And Jesus conquered our biggest fear so that when we die we actually live again in him. Death is not the end for those that know Jesus, it is just the beginning. We don't have to fear death in this life. We don't have to fear losing our life here. We don't have to fear because real life begins after death. We can live everyday in freedom knowing that this world is not the end.

When we came to Jesus we died to ourselves & began to live to him. We do not fear death in this life because Jesus has died & we died with him. New life has begun & this life never ends!

Do you know this life? Do you know what it's like to be free from this fear of death?
