Day 310/365- Mark 16:7

"And Peter"

But go, tell his disciples and Peter that he is going before you to Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you." (Mark 16:7 ESV)

The last time Peter saw Jesus it was under completely different circumstances. He abandoned Jesus in the garden, denied him by the fire, & saw him crucified. The messenger tells Mary to go tell Jesus' disciples AND Peter that he is alive. We all know Peter was a disciple but Jesus especially wanted him to know.

On a side note, I do find it odd that the religious leaders remembered what Jesus said about his resurrection but his disciples did not.

See, Jesus wasn't done with Peter. Peter's failure wasn't the last word. He was still useful to the kingdom of God in spite of his failure.

The same is true for us. We all have failed Jesus at one time or another. And if Jesus can forgive Peter, he can forgive us. If he can restore Peter, he can restore us. If he can use Peter, he can use us.
