Day 253/365- Ezra 3:7

"God doesn't call the equipped, he equips the called"

Then the people hired masons and carpenters and bought cedar logs from the people of Tyre and Sidon, paying them with food, wine, and olive oil. The logs were brought down from the Lebanon mountains and floated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Joppa, for King Cyrus had given permission for this. (Ezra 3:7 NLT)

When God calls his people to do something, he equips them to do it. You have probably heard the saying, "God doesn't call the equipped but equips the called."

This is the case with Ezra & the exiles that return to build the temple & repopulate Jerusalem. God not only sends them back to Jerusalem but he has the pagan king that rules them endorse & help pay for it. Only God can do something like that.

Often times when we think of doing things for God we think in terms of our ability to make it happen. When we are met with challenges we calculate a strategy for solving them. But if God can move on the heart of a pagan king to send his enemies back home to build a temple for their God, then he can do anything.

What is burning in your heart that you know God has clearly commanded you to do? It's time to lay down the excuses. If he is calling, he has already provided the way for it to happen!
