Day 66/365- Numbers 23:8

"Christian Cussers"

But how can I curse those
whom God has not cursed?
How can I condemn those
whom the Lord has not condemned? (Numbers 23:8 NLT)

Again God keeps his promises to his people. Promises he made long ago to Abraham. God said to Abraham in Genesis 12:3, "I will bless those who bless you and curse those who treat you with contempt. All the families on earth will be blessed through you."

God meant what he said. Balak attempts to get Balaam to curse the Israelites. He attempts to have them cursed three times but every time Balaam blesses them instead. God promised that whoever blessed them would be blessed & whoever cursed then would be cursed & God kept his promise. Even generations later, God keeps his promises. God was watching out for his people so intimately that he was aware & thwarted an attempt to harm them.

The same care is given to those of us who are in Christ. God fights off the enemy for us. He attempts to accuse us & curse us on a daily basis. He lives to steal, kill, & destroy but our God is faithful & he uses any means necessary to get between the enemy & us. Sometimes God allows difficult things in our lives but this doesn't make us cursed. In fact, every person who is in Christ is eternally blessed in him. Jesus took our curse for us so that we would never have to taste it or worry about it again. Jesus took our curse so that we could be eternally accepted as sons & daughters of God!
