Meanwhile, the famine became so severe that all the food was used up, and people were starving throughout the lands of Egypt and Canaan. By selling grain to the people, Joseph eventually collected all the money in Egypt and Canaan, and he put the money in Pharaoh's treasury. (Genesis 47:13, 14 NLT)
God doesn't waste things.
He doesn't waste words.
He doesn't waste time. He simply uses everything for his glory & our good (Romans 8:28).
Where did Joseph get all of this agricultural expertise? The Bible doesn't say. God gave him wisdoms to interpret dreams so maybe God gave it to him? How was he able to know how to store up so much grain & help rule Egypt with such wisdom? Again, the Bible doesn't say.
I do wonder how much Joseph learned being in the house of Potiphar & being in good standing with the manager of the prison. I can't help but think that Joseph's experience growing up in a family of shepherds & spending the time in prison, along with what he gained from managing Potiphar's house helped him when it came to him ruling Egypt.
Although difficult, God used Joseph's time in prison, with Potiphar, & all difficulty he experienced to prepare him for what would be a life saving venture.
It may seem like God doesn't know where we are. It may at times seem like he doesn't care. It may seem that we are wasting our lives & spinning our wheels. Let's not forget however, God doesn't waste things. Wherever we are, whatever we are doing, he is using it now & will use it later for his glory & our good if we can only keep this perspective!
God doesn't waste things. Do we?
